Do Your Best, That's All

One thing I'm betting on is that you have heard this before, "You can be and do anything in the world. Remember this though, always do your best." Its a sentence that comes from the age old dilemma of following your dreams or facing reality. Especially for those who's dreams aren't as close to their current reality. Its the story of daydreaming and anxiety, a blend of heightened emotions of tension and desire.

The question looking for its answer is:
How might we work towards our dreams within the throes of reality?

There was a time when the thought of a career in creative media was the hobby that should stay a hobby. Focusing on doing your best to get into a suit and tie, a lab coat or such other professional uniform to firm life until you can take the last couple of years left to "see it all" or enjoy the house was the collective goal.

The word is agribusiness and it has been one of the ideas swimming around for a good amount of time. Working in a full time role has the stability you should preach on top of the bleachers and rightfully deserves it. For those like Carol in Carol & The End Of The World (watch it on Netflix, its great!), that would be the perfect view on life. No questions asked just put me in that routine and I'm golden. Can't speak for everyone but that alone doesn't sound ideal. For others however, there's an itch you can't seem to get rid of. A day where you think so much about that idea or experience.

In it all the solution was to figure out a way to make sure that the full time role being looked for would either lead you towards those dreams and ideas becoming reality or will offer a window into what it could be like to have them executed.

It just so happened that an opportunity like that came up in the agricultural space and was accepted by me in the early day of 2024. I realised that I kept myself from doing things because I thought that it was something I could not make time for. The more I worked in a full time role, the more I realised that I have time, I am the only one who determines what 24 hours looks like to me. Like anything we take for granted, it takes time to work and create a habit and routine. Working has allowed me to better appreciate that everything takes time. Why I was so eager to speed up life as a child is beyond me.

As I continue to work towards my dreams, I tell my self that I would gradually find ways to incorporate the dream into my life. In this way I am constantly reminded of my interests and "stay in shape", ready to look for and take on the chances we thought to dismiss in the past. As we continue to live, I want to take a chance on my capabilities and I hope you eventually do or want same for yourself.
